SUMMARY:Protest: The Supreme Court is Attacking Us – Again!
DESCRIPTION:Less than two years after overturning the constitutional right to abortion\, saying such decisions should be “left to the states\,” the Supreme Court is now considering a NATIONAL ban on one of two drugs used for 53% of abortions performed in the United States. \nAfter two decades of safe use in the United States and double that in much of Europe\, the drug mifepristone makes medical abortions less traumatic when used in combination with another drug\, misoprostol. Restricting or outright banning of mifepristone\, like every other politically-driven restriction on women and others to control our own bodies\, would just mean mountains more needless suffering for people like us. \nOn Tuesday\, March 26th\, the Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments on a case brought by the anti-women\, anti-LGBTQ+ “Alliance Defending Freedom\,” the same far-right outfit* behind an avalanche of other bigoted legislation and court decisions.\nThe Court already is ethically challenged by de facto bribes from Federalist Society-aligned wealthy patrons. We must continue to expose the illegitimacy of a court packed with political hacks who twist the Constitution to meet their far-right agendas.\nTheir growing lack of legitimacy in the eyes of the public is what the court fears most!  \nTherefore it’s up to us to broadcast far and wide WHY this court is illegitimate and that its politically-driven decisions MUST be challenged at every turn!\nPlease join us at 12 noon on March 26 in front of the U.S. Federal Courthouse\, 219 S. DESCRIPTION:Join us March 8\, for International Women’s Day! \nRally to protest an Anti-Abortion Crisis Pregnancy Center in Old Town\, Chicago.\nAccording to the official International Women’s Day (IWD) website\, March 8th is a global day celebrating the social\, economic\, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. \nIn the spirit of calling our community to action\, we will be rallying to protest the anti-abortion crisis pregnancy center that recently opened at 1212 N. La Salle Drive\, right next door to Planned Parenthood. Local residents and neighbors deserve to know the truth about the anti-abortion forces that are at work in their community! \nAnti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers frequently open near abortion clinics in order to confuse people seeking reproductive healthcare and create opportunities to misdirect patients away from their appointments. This practice is known as “clinic co-location.” \nWhile anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers claim to support women and families\, reality does not support this claim. Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs): \nExist to intercept pregnant people and convince them not to have an abortion. Any other activities they conduct are in service to that mission.\nViolate personal bodily autonomy. Even before they meet their clients\, these centers have already decided what is best for them. CPCs have a well-documented history of spreading harmful medical disinformation in order to shame\, scare\, and coerce clients.\nDelay women and birthing people from accessing real reproductive healthcare services. Abortion is a time-sensitive medical procedure\, and CPCs’ delay tactics create real harm for people seeking care.\nJoin us on March 8th at 5:30pm to learn more about how anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers in Chicago and across the United States are creating dangerous barriers to healthcare for women and birthing people of color\, young people and students\, and people living in poverty.

SUMMARY:NOISE FOR NOW – Abortion Access Benefit Series
DESCRIPTION:Ground Control Touring and NOISE FOR NOW are pleased to announce that we have teamed again up to take action\, bring awareness and have some fun with our second annual Abortion Access Benefit Series. The series has expanded to take over FIVE cities\, converging on Saturday\, January 20th\, 2024 – Los Angeles at Lodge Room\, New York City at Bowery Ballroom\, Chicago at Empty Bottle\, Philadelphia at Johnny Brenda’s\, and Nashville at DRKMTTR. \nEach event will feature a special night of music and festivities in support of abortion funds\, community\, and bodily autonomy. 100% of proceeds will go to NOISE FOR NOW who will then allocate the funds raised to local independent abortion clinics and abortion funds in each region.
